The QC Technician position exists to ensure that raw materials, intermediates, and finished colorant products consistently meet established quality standards through thorough testing and precise documentation. This role involves performing routine and non-routine quality control testsusing calibrated laboratory equipment, promptly recording accurate results in SAP, and clearly communicating any deviations to relevant personnel for immediate corrective action. The technician is expected to maintainmeticulous records for compliance, activelycontribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and consistently adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards. The ultimate expectation is to minimize quality-related rejections, enhance product reliability, and support efficient manufacturing processes, thereby ensuring customer satisfaction.

  1. Conduct both routine and non-routine quality control (QC) testing on rawmaterials, intermediates, semi-finished, and finished products according to approved test methods.
  2. Verify and ensurematerials comply with established QC specifications.
  3. Promptly record and log test results into the SAP system and other applicable documentation.
  4. Communicate QC test outcomes effectively to relevant personnel (e.g., informing production to make necessary adjustments).
  5. Approve materials meetingquality specifications; documentand report any deviations or non-conformance to the QC Supervisor, Chemist, or Technical Manager.
  6. Accurately and promptly maintain documentation (e.g., batch cards, checklists, drawdowns, retain samples) to facilitate data retrieval and root-cause analysis.
  7. Ensure all batch card information required during production is properly completed and recorded.
  8. Provide recommendations for improving First Time Right (FTR) performance to the Factory Chemist or Technical Manager.
  9. Maintain and ensureproper calibration and verification of QC laboratory equipment before use and keep detailed records of all calibration and verification activities.
  10. Update calibration/verification record indicating the date and details of the calibration/verification. Ensure these are retrievable.
  11. Keep records of calibration certificates and ensure that they are retrievable
  12. Aim to minimizeQC-related rejections and waste.
  13. Actively participate in site stock-taking activities.
  14. Assist in the necessary reworking of rejected, redundant, or quarantined stock.
  15. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory, retain sample storage areas, and production areas affecting product quality.
  16. Support departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through consistent performance and activeengagement.
  17. Adhere strictly to all applicable legislation and corporate governance standards.
  18. Participate in maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 management systemsand standards.
  19. Contribute actively to safety, quality, and environmental initiatives by promptly reporting incidents, spillages, and potential hazards to ensure a low-risk environment.
  20. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality controlwithin the colourant, chemical, coatings, manufacturing
  21. Understanding of colorantmanufacturing processes, including raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. Basic understanding of chemical principles and color theory.
  22. Skill in calibrating, verifying, and maintaining laboratory instruments.
  23. Ability to accurately record and managetest data usingSAP or similar systems.
  24. Ensuring accuracy and precision in test resultsand documentation.
  25. Ability to identifynon-conformance, troubleshoot qualityissues, and suggestcorrective actions.
  26. Clearly communicating test outcomes to production teams and supervisors.
  27. Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards and adherence to safety protocols.
  28. Effective management and retrieval of QC records,samples, and calibration certificates.
  29. BTech or Degreein Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a relatedfield
