Job Title: QA Tester (Manual & Automation – 60/40 Split) – 6-month contract
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA Tester (leaning manual) with a strong balance of manual and automation testing skills to join a high-performance technology environment within the financial services sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of critical applications through structured testing processes, defect management, and automation of key test scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute manual testing across functional and regression test cycles
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts (approx. 40% focus)
- Identify, log, track, and retest defects through to resolution
- Perform end-to-end testing across application workflows
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and support teams
- Participate in test planning, estimation, and test case design
- Conduct regression, integration, and system testing
- Support release cycles and production deployments from a QA perspective
- Ensure test coverage aligns with business and technical requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and frameworks
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in QA/testing roles
- Strong manual testing experience (essential)
- Proven experience with test automation (approx. 40%)
- Experience creating and executing test cases and test plans
- Strong understanding of the software testing lifecycle (STLC)
- Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA or similar)
- Basic SQL skills for data validation and testing
- Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments
- Exposure to API testing and integration testing (advantageous)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
