SUMMARY:
QC & Food Safety Manager
A well known food manufacturer is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QC & Food Safety Manager to join their team in the food manufacturing industry. The above mentioned will supervise Quality Control (QC) functions including product testing and product release as well as manage external certifications including BRC, FSSC 22000, and customer-specific standards, should you have any queries please contact Kaylin or Antoinette.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and support QC Analysts
Ensure laboratory equipment is serviced and calibrated
Ensure analysts are trained and competent to perform testing
Conduct training sessions for analysts when required
Report non-complying results to the Technical Manager
Ensure sufficient laboratory consumables are available for continuous testing
Ensure test results are delivered efficiently without unnecessary delays
Ensure effective evaluation and release of final products
Assist with root cause investigations for nonconforming stock
Release final products, issue COAs and concessions, and assist with customer complaints and investigations
Conduct internal audits on food safety management systems
Prepare for and lead external audits conducted on the company
Maintain all external certifications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or equivalent qualification
FSSC 22000 or HACCP Auditor Course certification
Minimum 7 years’ experience in food safety within a food manufacturing environment
Proven laboratory testing experience within a quality control environment
Strong experience in implementing and auditing food safety management systems
Experience supervising and managing staff
Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
