Job Purpose
This role is responsible for supporting external customers and driving revenue growth through proactive project sales activities. The Project Sales Engineer will play a key role in developing and maintaining strong client relationships, managing project accounts, and supporting technical needs in line with organizational goals.
This position is suited to a driven individual with a strong engineering background, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for providing tailored technical solutions that generate measurable business results.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement business strategies in collaboration with management.
Maintain and grow existing client accounts.
Identify and onboard new clients in consultation with the National Project Sales Manager.
Provide technical and service support to customers and internal sales teams.
Assist engineering and design teams with technical input on system layouts and designs.
Grow project quote intake and improve conversion rates.
Manage and nurture assigned customer accounts to increase sales.
Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
Conduct client visits to promote solutions and maintain business relationships.
Prepare and manage accurate sales forecasts.
Participate in training and development programs.
Experience
5 to 10 years’ experience in an engineering or customer services environment (preferred).
Prior exposure to fluid power systems or mining equipment is advantageous.
Proven ability to manage customer relationships and drive sales.
Skills & Attributes
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Fluent in both English and Afrikaans, verbal and written.
Strong technical aptitude and communication skills.
Results-driven with a strong customer-service mindset.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Educational Requirements
Matric is required.
A tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering (BEng, BSc, BTech) is preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
