PROJECT ENGINEER — ROADS & BUILDINGS

Still Earth Construction is appointing a Project Engineer who can carry a package from first survey through to final handover — across both road works and building works.
This is a single appointment to begin with. Still Earth has chosen to bring one engineer in and assess them properly rather than hire a team at once, which means whoever takes this role has an unusually clear runway.
ABOUT STILL EARTH CONSTRUCTION
Still Earth Construction is a Nigerian engineering and construction company delivering bridges, buildings, roads, civil works and fit-outs across the country — for government at federal, state and local level, for parastatals and agencies, and for multinational clients. It is part of Still Earth Holdings, a Nigerian group operating across construction, finance, energy and real estate. The business is building out its delivery team across a growing portfolio of both its own projects and client-sourced work.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Own assigned road and building packages end to end — setting out, execution, quality, programme and handover
• Plan and sequence the works, and drive daily production against the programme
• Supervise site teams and subcontractors, and hold them to method statement and specification
• Coordinate with the design team on drawings, technical queries and site instructions
• Forecast materials, plant and labour ahead of need rather than in reaction to a shortage
• Maintain site records — progress, measurement, non-conformances, variations — to a standard that survives scrutiny
• Enforce safety and quality on site personally
WHAT WE NEED
• A degree in civil engineering, or an equivalent qualification
• Delivery experience with a contractor — not consultancy oversight — on BOTH road works and building works. This is the pivotal requirement and we will test it
• Demonstrable ownership of a package from start to finish, not responsibility for one phase of it
• A solid grounding in earthworks, layer works, drainage, concrete structures and finishing trades
• Programme, measurement and cost awareness at package level
• Willingness to be based wherever the projects are, and to move between sites as the work demands
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART
• COREN registration, or professional registration in your own jurisdiction
• Nigerian or wider West African project experience
• A record of taking a site from bare ground to handover
TERMS
Remuneration is set against experience and competence, with benefits according to level. Expatriate appointments carry, as a minimum, a flight and leave cycle. Still Earth Construction appoints on competence and does not restrict by nationality or gender.
