The Project Coordinator (Foundation) provides operational and administrative support in the planning and implementation of projects. The role supports Project Managers (PM) and Senior Project Coordinators (SPC) by managing workstreams, tracking progress, and ensuring governance compliance. Project Coordinators may independently lead small-scale projects or components of larger projects, while developing their skills in project management. This role is a key step in the Foundation’s career pathway from Administrator to Senior Project Coordinator.

Project Support & Delivery

  • Support PMs and SPCs in planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
  • Manage specific workstreams or components of larger projects.
  • Lead delivery of small-scale projects under supervision
  • Ensure risks, budgets, and issues are tracked and escalated.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with PMO, MEL, Ops, and Marketing to ensure alignment.
  • Coordinate tasks with Project Administrators to maintain discipline.
  • Liaise with local partners and communities to support project activities.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

  • Collect and submit project data accurately and on time.
  • Support SPCs/PMs with MEL reporting requirements.
  • Participate in learning sessions and apply lessons to workstreams.

Documentation & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with templates, registers, and reporting standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and version control.
  • Support preparation of stage-gate approval documents.

Coaching & Development

  • Provide guidance to Project Administrators where applicable.
  • Actively build own knowledge and skills in project management.
  • Model Foundation’s values in teamwork and engagements.

What You’ll Bring To The Team

  • Valid driver’s license
  • 2–3 years in project support, administration, or coordination
  • Experience managing workstreams, reporting, and documentation

Advantageous

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Development Studies, Business, or related field
  • CAPM (Certified associate in project management – PMI) or PRINCE2 Foundation (or equivalent short course)
  • Exposure to project lifecycles and stakeholder engagement
