Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee plant safety regulations, procedures, and compliance with the Safety Policy and SHEQ requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and monitor safety orientation programmes such as LOTOTO, confined space entry, working at heights, and hazardous material awareness.
• Oversee production processes, including process flows, control strategies, and the operation of PLC and SCADA systems.
• Apply problem-solving methods such as root cause failure analysis and risk analysis to resolve operational issues.
• Maintain knowledge of plant equipment, including liquid and powder flow mechanisms, lubrication principles, and basic electrical and instrumentation concepts.
• Coordinate production planning, including raw material availability, chemical batching, weekly scheduling, and communication with procurement.
• Capture and manage production bookings on the D365 system, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate downtime reporting.
• Supervise team operations, including timekeeping, coordination, cleaning of manufacturing facilities after production, and product labelling.
• Conduct stock takes and support production documentation and operational checks.
• Assist with quality assurance requirements, customer complaint investigations, and environmental compliance.
• Support process optimisation, special projects, and ensure the timely delivery of products to clients.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in a Construction Manufacturing industry.

Required Skills

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to do calculations including interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Chemistry and Physics knowledge.
• Management skills / Supervisory skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Computer Literacy.
• Good practical problem-solving skills. Experience with 8D advantageous.
