Location: Cape Winelands District Municipality
A Production Manager is required in the Tulbagh / Winelands area. You will oversee all aspects of production and ensure efficiency, high quality and cost effective manufacturing processes.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 Degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) would be advantageous 5-8 years in Production Management role within food manufacturing or FMCG industry Good working knowledge of ERP Systems
Experience with
budget and cost saving initiatives
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and manage production schedules to meet customer demands and business objectives Implement and sustain lean manufacturing processes to boost efficiency and reduce waste Ensure adherence to industry-specific quality, safety, and environmental standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 14001) Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, yield, and costs Lead, mentor, and develop production teams to achieve operational excellence and foster
employee engagement
Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and
quality assurance
teams to optimize supply chain and production flow Manage production budgets and ensure cost control without compromising quality or safety standards Drive
continuous improvement
initiatives and cultivate a culture of
innovation
Oversee
equipment maintenance
to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency Identify and mitigate production-related risks to ensure uninterrupted business operations Ensure compliance with South African labor laws, occupational health and safety regulations, and company policies Prepare and present regular reports to
senior management
