Role Purpose,
Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Feta department with the main responsibilities is for the Specialty Cheese production. Successful candidates need to have at least 5 years’ relevant experience within FMCG environment, must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge in dairy manufacturing. Must compile & manage production results and full adherence to all Food Safety, General Safety & Health policies, procedures and legislation. Must have at least 5 year’s experiences in a supervisory role. Be fluent in English and be computer literate with sound knowledge in excel.

NQF 7(Degree / Btech/advanced diploma) Operations management / Chemical Engineering or qualification.
Good knowledge of all the equipment in the Cream Cheese, Feta and White Mould department.
At least 5 years’ relevant experience within FMCG environment
Must have experience in budget and cost management
Must have at least 3-5 year’s experiences in a supervisory role
Knowledge for cheese making.
Knowledge of CIP systems.
NQF4 or higher dairy qualification especially for cheddar, gouda, mozzarella and feta.
Good interpersonal skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Technical knowledge of dairy manufacturing equipment
Able to handle pressure
Strong leadership ability
Supervisory experience
Sound knowledge of Speciality Product knowledge
Experience in MS Office
Willing to work shifts, long hours, weekends, public holidays and overtime
Exposure to HACCP and FSSC22000 advantageous
Attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong analytical and statistical knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities
,
Safety – adhere to standards and DIFR rate
Daily, weekly and monthly stock counts
Yields (impacts on cost and savings)
Work closely with R&D and communicate audit results
Implement measure and maintain productivity
Measure and improve product and material waste
Maintain and improve quality systems
Yield as a measure of cost will be drive to the maximum
Ensure that the department adheres to quality procedures and standards safety and housekeeping standards.
Analyse daily shift results received from production teams according to set out targets. Implement actions to achieve targets, or to improve OEE and seconds per kg.
Ensure that job cards are created and logged on Pragma for all defects on machines or in the department. (maintaining machines or Improvement) Recommend weekly inspections.
Ensure that ISO, HACCP and NOSA procedures are in place for all processes and all people in department work accordingly. Targets set out should be achieved.
Ensure that the department are cleaned properly and sanitized. All lab swaps should be negative. With any deviations actions and root cause analysis should be done to rectify. Follow up swaps should be negative.
Capture relevant information in system and send reports.
Initiating and implementing productivity improvement projects.
Quality Management and housekeeping.
Liaises with internal and external clients.
People and performance management.
Manage OEE and BPCS systems to improve efficiency in the department.
Ensure that all administrative duties (control and check sheets) are completed as required.
Compile and evaluate the Key Performance Areas of the people reporting to you.
Manage KRONOS on a daily basis
Report all related problems to the Deputy Plant Manager.
