Objective of the Function
The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For
- Production and quality assurance.
- General operational efficiency.
- Training and development of new employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a communication champion and promote a positive employee relations environment.
- Ensure Adient’s Vision is upheld at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with BOS, HSE, and all quality-related legal procedures.
- Monitor production performance and conduct trend analysis with corrective actions where required.
- Ensure adequate staffing and training to execute operational plans.
- Plan and control production scheduling, including the supply and delivery of raw materials and components.
- Set and monitor delivery schedules.
- Coordinate production methods and systems to improve operational efficiency and achieve cost savings.
- Lead initiatives to improve operating standards and efficiency.
- Maintain and control departmental administration.
- Support the Manufacturing Engineering Department with new model planning and model changes.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required.
- Lead, guide, and support Production Team Leaders and Master Builders.
- Ensure all 5S activities are carried out with the support of Team Leaders.
- Work closely with the Line Monitor to resolve customer concerns promptly.
- Maintain training and competency records for all production employees.
- Participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of production performance to plant management.
- Ensure customer and internal production buffers are maintained.
- Maintain discipline on the shop floor in accordance with company policies.
- Manage timekeeping at shift start, lunch breaks, and shift end.
- Motivate and encourage employees to contribute solutions to operational challenges.
- Manage a unionised workforce and engage effectively with shop stewards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Operations Management or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ manufacturing experience.
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
