Position: Product Developer (3 month contract)
Job Description
3 month contract to assist with the final development and launch of a new range.
Immediate availability is required.
Duties and responsibilities
Ensure kitchen trials are conducted and recorded correctly.
Ensure development follows the correct internal processes and respective CPAs and manage the critical path from to launch.
Project Management:
Ensure all departments meet due dates and targets for product launches.
Preparation of samples for tasting panels for sensory analysis and assisting with shelf life trials.
Conduct competitor research and pricing comparisons in the local and international market for new developments and existing products.
Sourcing of raw materials and packaging.
Analysing nutritional results and compiling nutritional tables.
Working alongside the design team to meet artwork deadlines.
Checking artwork before print, preparing mock ups and attending customer passes of new packaging during first print run.
Completing handover documents for new products for production, quality, finance and marketing departments.
Training factory staff on new products and product improvements (appearance, taste, blending and packing procedures).
Completing all required certification applications. (Halaal, Kosher, DSA, GIFSA, RFA).
Minimum Requirements
Tertiary qualifications:
Food Technology / BSc Food Science.
3 years’ New Product Development experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Food Safety Internal Auditing Certificate would be advantageous.
Computer literate (MS office).
Valid driver’s license, own reliable transport.
Functional skills required
