SUMMARY:
A heavy engineering manufacturing concern is seeking a Procurement Manager for their Plant in Pretoria East with minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within a Production / Manufacturing / Engineering Environment.
Responsibilities:
Buys supplies and materials – Source, negotiate with suppliers, purchase, track orders and collaborate with Project Teams, Logistics and Finances.
Requirements:
Grade 12 and Diploma or Bachelors Degree in a relevant field (Logistics / Purchasing)
Import / Export background is essential
Supply Chain KnowledgeMS Office and SYSPRO or any other appropriate ERP software
Excellent communication skills
Critical thinking and excellent Negotiation skillsEffective time management / work under pressure and meet deadlines
Good problem solving skills
POSITION INFO:
Duties Include: Buy supplies and materials – Source, negotiate with suppliers, purchase, track orders and collaborate with Project Teams, Logistics, and Finances – Ensure a reliable and cost effective supply chain to meet production needs – Source, negotiate price and terms, and purchase equipment, goods and services (local and import) – Source raw materials, components and other supplies – Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers – Manage quality, reliability and timeliness of delivery – Monitor Supplier Delivery Performance – Minimize cost and risks – Handle imports and freight quotes – Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand – Review and submit forecasts
