Procurement Engineer Jobs in Sandton, South Africa at Alforat Developments
Responsibilities:
Establish procurement strategies for receiving and tracking project materials that optimize quality, cost, and timely delivery.
Work collaboratively with management and project management teams to coordinate supplier selection, credit terms, track supplier performance standards, and conduct ongoing evaluations.
Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities, presenting market analysis and strategies for growth while controlling spending to foster a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs.
Prepare procurement plans and oversee the full array of procurement functions including purchasing, receipt, inspections, and logistics.
Develop plans for the effective temporary storage of project materials.
Ensure maintenance of accurate records for all stored materials and their safe storage.
Collaborate with management in negotiating contracts and lines of credit with suppliers and subcontractors.
Monitor and support returns, damage replacements, and warranty claims.
Support, and in some cases lead, cost reduction efforts.
Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical criteria.
Support in conducting price analysis and selecting the most appropriate alternatives.
Assist in negotiating rates with subcontractors and conducting price analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Civil Engineer (preferably).
Males only.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proficient in English language.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Advanced analytical skills.
Advanced problem-solving skills.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
