operating Gravure printing machines in a high-speed packaging environment? We’re looking for a skilled Printing Machine Operator (Gravure) to drive print quality, efficiency, and machine reliability in our growing production team. Role
Purpose
To operate the Gravure Printing Machine efficiently, meeting production and quality targets while minimizing waste and downtime. The role is critical in ensuring printing output aligns with specifications and compliance standards, while maintaining machine health and contributing to
continuous improvement
.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Efficiency Meet daily and monthly production output targets
Reduce changeover time and manage efficient make-ready processes
Print Quality Compliance Ensure print quality matches job specifications and gains QA approval
Prevent printing defects and reduce customer complaints
Downtime Management Identify and report machine faults
Work with maintenance to minimize downtime
Process Waste Control Keep material waste within defined norms
Accurately record and report material usage
Documentation & Reconciliation Maintain detailed shift-wise records of material input and printed output
Submit reconciliation reports to relevant departments
Safety & Hygiene Follow EHS,
food safety
, and hygiene standards at all times
Maintain a clean and organized
work environment
Learning & Team Coordination Participate in
on-the-job training
with senior operators and supervisors
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments
Discipline & Compliance Comply with HR rules for attendance, behavior, and safety
Support adherence to plant-wide policies and systems Key Interactions Internal:
Head of Printing, Shift In-Charges
QA, Maintenance, Planning Teams Raw Material and Ink Departments External:
Occasionally interface with machine manufacturers or ink suppliers under guidance Requirements
Education:
ITI or Diploma in Printing Technology or Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
2 to 6 years of experience operating Gravure Printing Machines in a packaging or printing setup
Core Competencies:
Proficient in Gravure printing and ink handling
Strong grasp of print quality standards and defect management
Ability to make basic mechanical adjustments and troubleshoot issues
Familiarity with ISO, QMS, and
food safety
compliance
Good team player with
communication skills
and shift discipline
Comfortable using basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office)
