National Diploma / N6 Mechanical Engineer
Trade Test Fitter and Turner
10 years’ experience heavy duty engineering industry as supervisor /foreman
Experience in mechanical equipment
Maintenance off crop planning and budgeting
Sugar industry experience with power generation section
Knowledge and experience in reliable, preventive and predictive maintenance
Maintenance and operating knowledge of Boiler Equipment
Strong leadership and quality workmanship
Computer literate with Planned maintenance system
Duties
Provides leadership to the Power Generation Maintenance Workshop to ensure plant availability
Ensures effective maintenance of mechanical equipment
Monitors daily performances figures to ensure equipment is operating at their optimum efficiency
Carries out special test to identify sources of inefficiency
Proactively investigates recurring breakdowns or equipment failures
Ensures that the plant is maintained adequately by making use of condition-based monitoring systems
Monitors the condition of the Bearing Cooling Water (BCW) system
Provides a safe working environment for subordinates and ensures that subordinates comply with all safety requirements
