Reports to: Operations Director

Position Summary The Post-Harvest Cannabis Manager oversees all post-harvest operations, ensuring harvested cannabis is processed, dried, cured, trimmed, packaged, stored, and transferred in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for managing staff, maintaining quality control, optimizing workflows, and ensuring production goals are met while preserving product integrity and maximizing yield.

Operations Management

  • Oversee all post-harvest activities, including harvesting, bucking, trimming, drying, curing, weighing, packaging, and inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain post-harvest schedules to meet production targets and customer demand.
  • Monitor environmental conditions in drying and curing rooms to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Implement and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all post-harvest processes.
  • Coordinate with cultivation, manufacturing, quality assurance, and distribution teams to ensure seamless operations.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate post-harvest staff.
  • Schedule labor appropriately to meet production deadlines and control costs.
  • Foster a culture of safety, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure all products meet company quality standards and state regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and seed-to-sale tracking system data.
  • Verify proper labeling, packaging, storage, and handling procedures.
  • Assist with internal audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance reviews.
  • Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Inventory & Yield Management

  • Track post-harvest yields and identify opportunities to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure accurate product reconciliation throughout the post-harvest process.
  • Generate reports on production metrics, inventory status, and team performance.

Facility & Equipment Management

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all post-harvest areas.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operating efficiently.
  • Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Enforce workplace safety standards and OSHA compliance where applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in cannabis cultivation, post-harvest operations, manufacturing, or agricultural production.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong understanding of drying, curing, trimming, packaging, and cannabis quality standards.
  • Experience with cannabis compliance regulations and seed-to-sale tracking systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large-scale commercial cannabis operations.
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and quality management systems.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • Cannabis industry certifications or relevant training.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions within cultivation and processing facilities.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient for handling cannabis products and operating processing equipment.

Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office setting at a licensed marijuana facility.
