About the Company – My client is a client-focused Investment Management company providing financial planning and investment advice and services to clients planning for, or already in, their retirement years. They offer a full range of financial services including:
Investment & Portfolio Management, Offshore Financial Services, Trustee Services, Retirement Planning, Local & Offshore Money Market, Estate Planning, Tax Services and Wills. They also offer their own Unit Trust funds to clients, and attend to the accounting and administration of said unit trust internally.
About the Role – My client is building their investment team, and is looking for an investment professional with a broad range of investment skills who can add value across their range of client offerings, both on the fund management side, as well as the private share portfolio offering. The applicant should have a keen interest in companies listed on the JSE, as well as understand the offshore investment environment.
Applicants should be looking to build a career as a portfolio manager in the competitive asset management industry. Suitable investment qualifications, relevant experience, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to work well with clients are key requirements for the position.
Qualifications
Degree in finance, investments, or similar
8-10 years’ experience in investment management, with a proven track record
Current or prior experience in managing securities portfolios is essential. This may include portfolio management experience in both local and offshore markets
Appropriate systems knowledge (MS Office, Bloomberg, etc)
Fit and proper requirements all in order
Required Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Analytical, well-read and articulate on investment strategy
Strong ability to work collaboratively with others
Compensation package – Basic salary + Bonus
