We are in search of an energetic person to greet our customers and provide excellent customer service when they arrive at the dealership. The ideal candidates should be friendly and helpful in assisting our customers in the transfer of their vehicle to our service advising team. Candidate will maintain efficient traffic flow in the service lane by parking vehicles in a safe manner and maintaining a neat appearance of the service parking. In addition, assisting customers’ needs in delivering to their desired location or pick up and drop to dealership. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and comfortable with light cleaning duties.
Required to hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and agree to a pre-employment drug test.
- Full-Time: afternoon/early evening hours Including Saturdays 8am – 1pm
- Avg hours 40 per week
- Pay Range: $14.00-$16.00 per hr.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare customers vehicle for service by placing a seat cover and floor mat in the vehicle prior to driving the vehicle out of the lane, report areas of damage on vehicle to service advisor immediately.
- Drive vehicle to and from the service lane, service stalls and parking lot as needed
- Secure vehicles once parked and documents where vehicle is located, returns keys to board located in the shop
- Ensure the service reception area, parking area and lane always look neat and orderly
- Provide a warm welcome and fond farewell to all customers arriving and departing, ask all customers within 10ft that are not with an employee if they need assistance
- Memorize the layout of the parking lot to communicate the correct location of customer’s vehicles
- Report accidents to service manager immediately
- Assist service advisors with tagging and gathering information from tow-ins or large trucks (mileage, vin number, location, etc.)
- Clean driveways and sidewalks, removing snow and debris as necessary
- Remove floor mat and seat cover from vehicle upon redelivery to the customer.
- Check in and park rental vehicles and complete all necessary paperwork
- Assist greeter with customer arrivals and departures during times of high volume
- Complete all side work assigned by the manager; maintain the cleanliness of the customer lounge and restrooms, stock supplies in the service drive and always keep the service lane clean and safe, inspect every hour.
- Check tire air pressure and adjusts as necessary, advise service advisor when tire pressure is more than a couple pounds off manufacturers specifications
- Preform complimentary alignment checks on all vehicles
- Arrange pre-work orders for next day’s appointments, prepare key tags, and disassemble no show work orders at the end of day
- Squeegee lane when wet to prevent slips and falls
- Evaluate shuttle log to coordinate shuttle runs efficiently to maximize time
- Drive customers to requested destinations within a 15-mile radius of the dealership
- Always use good judgment and safe driving skills
- Assist customers getting in and out of vehicle; maintain polite conversations with customers while they are using the courtesy shuttle
- Communicate with dealership personnel to report disruptions of service
- Answer incoming calls from dealership personnel regarding additions, time quotes, and other info as necessary
- Contact customers to confirm details of shuttle request and provide a time quote for pick up; call customers to gather more information regarding location of pick up when necessary
- Update log with status of runs and other pertinent information or requests
- Pick up parts from vendors as requested
- Drive customer’s vehicles to clear codes for technicians, deliver and pick up customers vehicles when necessary
- Notify service manager of any issues with shuttle or when maintenance is due; report any accidents or damage immediately
- Maintain the cleanliness of shuttle by keeping a schedule for detailing
- Assist in the service lane by greeting customers, tagging, and preparing vehicles for service and parking vehicles when shuttle log is caught up; pull staples for scanner during slow times
- Assist in transfer of scrap tires to staging area behind dumpsters. (Daily)
Other Duties:
- Complete ongoing training as specified by manager
- Handle customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refer dissatisfied customer to appropriate individual for resolution
- Work as a team to ensure the satisfaction of all customers
- Assist with building and grounds maintenance as needed.
- Assist on shop clean-ups, deliveries and shuttle runs as needed
- Report low levels of inventory to appropriate individual for ordering
- Assist with New Owners Event set up
- General housekeeping
- Any other duties assigned by manager
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, this position requires you to be indoors and outdoors frequently throughout the day
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Hazards from moving vehicles
Qualifications:
- Must be able to drive BOTH manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Professional personal appearance
- Ability to work well with customers while maintaining a friendly, helpful attitude
- Ability to multi-task
- Must have a valid driver’s license and have a safe driving record according to dealership standards
- Honesty and integrity
- Experience driving different size vehicles.
