Function Porter Facility Position Porter Introduction
A Vacancy exists for a Porter
, based at Life St. Dominic’s Hospital
, reporting to Lindsey Du Preez, Patient Services Supervisor
. The purpose of this position is to provide a supportive function to the nursing staff in basic delivery of tasks transportation of patients as well as supportive administration department under direct supervision of Unit Manager and Admission Supervisor.
Critical Outputs
Providing prompt, courteous service to all patients, staff, doctors, and any other persons
Safe and professional transporting of patients to wards and other sites
Delivering of prescriptions, ECG’s, X-Rays, as well as any other goods (including stock / stationery), to relevant units/personnel within the hospital.
Assist nurses in lifting patients.
Hospital Driver duties when required.
Maintaining a safe, clean environment.
Requirements
Must have Grade 12
Valid driver’s license and valid PDP (Public Driving Permit)
An enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized individual with initiative and able to handle pressure and heavy lifting
Able to work shifts (day or night) weekends and overtime as required.
Must be customer service orientated.
Teamwork is essential.
Experience with in healthcare industry will be advantageous
Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
