Key Duties and Responsibilities:
POS System Management:
Oversee the configuration, installation, and maintenance of POS systems including GAAP, Pilot, and Micros.
Ensure POS systems are always up to date, functioning correctly, and aligned with business needs.
Manage menu programming, system updates, and troubleshooting of POS software and hardware.
Data Management:
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of data within the POS systems, ensuring consistent and reliable information for reporting and analysis.
Manage data flow within the POS systems, including transaction records, sales figures, and menu configurations.
Oversee the extraction, analysis, and reporting of data to support performance reviews, financial reporting, and strategic decision-making.
Technical Support:
Provide specialized first-line support for POS-related issues, working with restaurant staff and head office teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve system glitches and errors to minimize downtime and ensure seamless operations.
Collaborate with the IT Support team to resolve complex issues and implement solutions that enhance POS performance.
Training and User Support:
Deliver training to restaurant and head office staff on effective use and best practices of POS systems.
Develop and distribute user guides, training materials, and troubleshooting documentation for ongoing support.
Assist store teams with real-time problem-solving and system optimization.
System Integration and Upgrades:
Lead the integration of new POS features or system upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal operational disruption.
Work with external vendors and IT service providers to implement enhancements and address any POS-related challenges.
Data and Reporting:
Manage data flow within POS systems, ensuring accurate transaction recording and reporting.
Support the extraction and analysis of sales data for performance reporting and strategic decision-making.
Regularly monitor system performance and generate reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Collaboration with External Partners:
Serve as the primary liaison with POS vendors and service providers, ensuring effective contract management and service delivery.
Coordinate with third-party partners to implement system integrations, updates, and troubleshooting efforts.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in POS technology to recommend and implement system improvements.
Conduct regular system audits and suggest optimizations to enhance POS efficiency and user experience.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in managing and supporting POS systems such as GAAP, Pilot, and Micros within a hospitality or retail environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting technical issues.
Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to translate technical information to non-technical users.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with data management, system integration, and vendor coordination.
Flexibility to provide on-site support at store locations as needed.
