PLC Programmer (Delta PLC Specialist) – Water Systems

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated PLC Programmer with hands-on experience in Delta PLC systems to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will focus on automation and control systems for pump rooms, borehole pump operations, filtration systems, and VSD (Variable Speed Drive) integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and commission PLC programs—primarily Delta PLCs (DVP series, AS series)
Design and troubleshoot control logic for pump stations, boreholes, filtration plants, and water treatment systems
Configure and integrate VSDs, sensors, flow meters, and telemetry systems
Work with HMI platforms (preferably Delta DOPSoft) for user-friendly operator interfaces
Conduct site visits for commissioning, diagnostics, and support
Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams for end-to-end system delivery
Produce and maintain technical documentation (IO schedules, wiring diagrams, logic descriptions)
Requirements:
Proven experience programming Delta PLCs (2+ years minimum)
Strong understanding of water systems, pumps, filtration units, and related industrial automation
Familiar with Modbus RTU/TCP, analog/digital IO, and sensor calibration
Proficiency in VSD setup and integration (Delta, ABB, etc.)
Experience with HMI development and SCADA interface basics
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites
Added Advantages:
Experience with telemetry systems or remote monitoring
Knowledge of ozone or UV filtration systems
Electrical or mechatronic diploma/degree
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R20 000,00 – R30 000,00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape 6045: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Delta PLC programmer: 1 year (Preferred)
