Plant Engineer required in Pietermaritzburg.
Currently recruiting an experienced Plant Engineer for a Fabrics manufacturing company based in Pietermaritzburg to take charge of analysing statistics, through working closely with the Production Manager, Maintenance Co-ordinator, and Quality Officer.
Implementing and maintaining a risk management program aimed at creating a safe working environment. Ensuring environmental issues are managed in a responsible way and compliance with relevant legislation is achieved.
Must be willing to relocate
Salary: R1.6mil per annum ctc.
Requirements:
Qualified Mechanical / Electrical Engineer Diploma / Degree.
GCC
– Factories.
NQF Level 6.
5 Years of relevant experience.
Management skills.
Communication skills.
Computer literacy.
Project management experience.
Risk management experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the performance and maintenance of the air-conditioning system, electrical and water reticulation, compressors, fire detection and suppression systems, autoclaves, and packaging equipment, and making the necessary reports.
To ensure the availability of the necessary resources.
To ensure that health and safety matters are strictly enforced.
Responsible for a risk management program to ensure a safe working environment.
To ensure good housekeeping routines by regularly reviewing these with the relevant departments.
To carry out audits to ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of machinery and equipment in his area of control.
Participate in preparing maintenance budgets and reporting on maintenance performance against defined metrics and objectives in his area.
Monitor and report on utilisation of utilities to ensure achievement of budgeted consumption targets.
To implement agreed cost-saving initiatives and projects.
To manage agreed projects.
Dealing with training agencies to book training courses and receive updates on progress.
To make recommendations around costs and trends per cost.
Using SPC to establish and report on machine differences and be involved in eliminating these.
To perform cost analysis and costing trends to advise improvements.
