Job Description
This role supports Kia in driving learning solutions that will assist in delivering on its business objective and will facilitate the development of Kia’s skills, succession planning and career development strategies. The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, implementation and reporting of training and managing all Seta- related duties. A critical deliverable of this role is the implementation of the Employment Equity strategy for the business, including reporting, tracking and measuring against targets. The entrenchment of a learning and development culture within the organisation is key and the incumbent will lead initiatives on employee experience, wellness and culture by collaborating across the network in creating a work environment that is diverse and inclusive, as well as to champion talent management within Kia.
Position Overview
Specific Role Responsibilities
People Development:
Deliver on the Annual Learning and Development (L&D) strategy to ensure success of Kia SA’s Strategic learning objectives
Support and act as advisor to employees and line management on all people development solutions to enable business performance
Leverage technology to create and manage an integrated digitised learning ecosystem, incorporating e-learning, mobile learning and other digital tools to enhance employee’s skills and promote continuous learning
Partner with Subject Matter Experts to curate relevant, fit for purpose e-learning programmes; integrate gamification elements into the learning strategy to boost engagement and motivation
Utilise data analytics to proactively assess the effectiveness of learning programmes, ensuring that they are aligned with the overall HR and business strategy
Manage and track Kia’s L&D budget and oversee training for all new and existing employees ensuring training needs and skills gaps are continuously identified, in alignment with the Executive
Ensure all People training material is maintained and updated as needed and report on the training completion against targeted percentages
Develop, plan and coordinate training workshops and maintain the required learning/skills development reporting
Manage the MerSETA function within the business ensuring compliance to submission deadlines and accuracy of submissions
Ensure efficient communication of all training related matters internally
Coaching and guiding of the People Development Specialist
Manage L&D, Career Management, Performance Management, Employment Equity and Bursaries:
Develop and position L&D strategies to deliver on Transformation objectives
Design and develop frameworks, methodologies, standards and policies for Career management
Design and develop frameworks, methodologies, standards and policies for Performance Management
Manage the Employment Equity Function for the organisation, including data analysis and management of the EE Committee
Manage the Bursary submissions, review, approval and budgeting process
Development of pipeline through leadership development offerings
Management of the employee reward and recognition initiatives
Management of the DEIB and culture initiatives, including supporting the roll out of the periodic culture surveys
Management of the employee wellness programme, inclusive of the wellness month and wellness day initiatives
Talent Management:
Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities
Management of the talent management within the organization through the performance management system (link with the systems being utilized at Motus group level)
Lead and manage the development of specific programs for the leadership development of managers, and programs for talented employees
Guide managers develop their team members through career pathing and provide training to managers on performance management and best practices
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Industrial Psychology/HR (Honours Degree highly preferred)
5-8 years of experience as a HR / Learning and Development Manager with proven exposure and experience at a Management level
Registration as a Skills Development Facilitator with a minimum of 3 years’ experience is highly advantageous
3-5 years’ experience in Digital Learning Solutions and e-learning platforms.
5-8 years’ experience in corporate culture, employee engagement, Employment Equity, wellness and DEIB
In depth knowledge and demonstrated experience of SETA requirements (specific knowledge on MERSETA/W&R SETA and related reporting would be an added advantage)
Sound knowledge and experience in SES, Exco and Board reporting
Sound Knowledge and experience from a BBBEE scorecard perspective and the compilation thereof specifically pertaining to Skills Development and Management Control
Proven track record and experience in managing various accredited internship programmes
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Skills and Personal Attributes
Advanced level of experience MS office suite, especially MS Excel
Above average analytical and reporting skills
