A renowned Engineering company is looking for a ‘’Payroll Officer’’ to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in Somerset West.
The Payroll Officer ensures employees are paid accurately and on time by managing payroll processes, calculating wages, benefits, and deductions, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
Experience in a similar position as a Payroll Officer.
Experience in payroll processing.
Relevant qualification / certification.
Experience in dealing with payroll for about 100 people.
Experience with general ledger accounts.
Experience with month end reports.
Proficiency in payroll software and accounting software is essential.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial for ensuring the accuracy of payroll calculations and records.
A thorough understanding of relevant payroll laws, regulations, and company policies is necessary.
Excellent communication skills are needed to interact with employees, HR, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurate Payroll Processing.
Calculate wages, salaries, overtime, bonuses, and other compensation.
Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring timely payments to employees.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records.
Deductions and
Benefits:
Manage and process various deductions, including taxes, insurance, and other voluntary deductions
Administer employee benefits, such as retirement plans and health insurance
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll laws, regulations, and company policies
Prepare and submit payroll reports to relevant authorities
Data Management:
Maintain accurate employee records, including personal information, employment history, and compensation details
Update payroll databases and systems with any changes in employee information or payroll data
Communication and Support:
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, such as paychecks, deductions, and benefits.
Collaborate with HR and other departments to resolve payroll-related issues.
