Are you an experienced payroll professional with a keen eye for detail? Do you have solid knowledge of SARS returns, IRP5s, and monthly PAYE submissions? We are seeking a highly motivated Payroll Officer to join our dedicated team at our private game reserve, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth and accurate payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and process the monthly payroll for all staff, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Prepare and submit monthly PAYE returns and SARS reconciliations.
Calculate, prepare, and submit IRP5 certificates annually.
Ensure all statutory deductions are correctly applied and submitted to the relevant authorities.
Manage employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist with internal audits and ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, particularly regarding SARS and PAYE tax rates.
Produce accurate and timely payroll reports as required by management.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll processing, ideally within a similar industry.
Strong knowledge of SARS payroll tax, PAYE, UIF, and SDL regulations.
Proven experience with IRP5 certificate preparation and submission.
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving abilities and time management skills.
A degree or relevant payroll qualification will be an advantage.
