PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR | CAPE TOWN
Decofurn is looking for an experienced and detail-driven Payroll Administrator to join our Head Office team in Montague Gardens.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has strong payroll experience, understands payroll compliance, can work independently, and is comfortable operating in a high-volume environment.
You will play a key role in ensuring that payroll is processed accurately, on time and in accordance with statutory requirements, while providing reliable payroll support and reporting to management.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Managing the end-to-end payroll process from payroll inputs through to finalisation, reporting and payment.
- Processing both weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Managing payroll inputs including overtime, leave, benefits, deductions, allowances and terminations.
- Ensuring accurate and timely PAYE, UIF and SDL calculations and submissions.
- Preparing and submitting EMP201 and EMP501 returns.
- Managing IRP5s and other statutory payroll requirements.
- Preparing accurate payroll reports for management.
- Maintaining strong payroll controls and ensuring data integrity.
- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and employee queries.
- Assisting with payroll audits, SARS queries and Department of Labour requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and reporting.
- Supporting and/or guiding payroll team members to maintain accuracy and accountability.
- Working closely with HR, Finance and management on payroll-related matters.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality when handling employee and payroll information.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of payroll and is confident managing a high-volume payroll environment.
Minimum requirements:
- 5+ years’ payroll experience, preferably within a medium to large organisation.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll processing.
- Experience processing both weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Strong knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP201, EMP501 and IRP5s.
- Hands-on experience with Sage 300 People.
- Experience with payroll reconciliations, reporting and statutory submissions.
- Experience dealing with payroll queries, discrepancies and employee concerns.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience in a high-volume environment is essential.
- Retail, warehousing or multi-site payroll experience would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and take accountability for payroll accuracy and deadlines.
