Position: PAS (Home Health)
Location: Springs
Job Summary
A paraprofessional who is specifically trained, competent, and performs assigned functions of personal care to patients in their residence under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or have a High School diploma and be enrolled in a vocational training program.
Must demonstrate competency to a supervisor and complete orientation training.
Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.
Ability to carry out directions, read, and write.
Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
Responsibilities
Understand and adhere to established Agency policies and procedures.
Perform personal care and bath as ordered.
Complete appropriate visit records promptly as per Agency policy.
Report changes in the patient’s condition and needs to the RN.
Perform household services essential to health care in the home as assigned.
Assist with ambulation and exercises for the patient as assigned.
Perform simple procedures, such as range of motion (ROM) exercises, as assigned.
Assist with medications that are ordinarily self-administered as assigned.
Attend in-service and continuing education programs as scheduled and necessary.
Participate in patient care conferences as scheduled.
Working Environment
Works indoors in the Agency office and patient homes, traveling to and from patient residences.

Physical Requirements
Ability to participate in physical activity.
Ability to work for extended periods while standing and involved in physical activity.
Heavy lifting capability.
Ability to do extensive bending, lifting, and standing regularly.
