Job Purpose
The role of the Lecturer is the delivery of training and education of students, student consultations, the establishment of a knowledge base of the discipline through academic research & development; whilst providing overall support to the Academic department.
Duties And Responsibilities
Presenting content in a class environment
Briefing students for assignments and projects
Marking assessments and providing feedback
Actively engaging with current trends in teaching and learning strategies within the Rosebank College environment
Developing and implementing intervention programmes for at-risk students
Qualification
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor’s/ Honours/ Masters Degree in the relevant lecturing discipline
NQF level 6 qualification in
Education
(PGDHE or equivalent) is an added advantage;
Training and Development
is an added advantage.
Experience
1 – 5 Years Lecturing experience
Experience in guidance and counselling, and remediation.
Key Competencies
Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework. Knowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions.
The ability to provide student support services.
The ability to work with and learn more about digitalized academic platforms.
The ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and to adapt to evolving situations.
Ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations.
Deadline orientated and can work well under pressure.
Ability to manage time effectively.
