The award-winning Reproductive Immunology Research Consortium in Africa (RIRCA) in the Biomedical Research Institute on the Tygerberg campus, Stellenbosch University (SU)
is looking for a part-time coordinator for our exciting training programmes. The incumbent will coordinate student training in reproductive immunology with partners in Africa, Europe
and the USA. The programmes are known as TIGRIS and BRAINS and are concerned with building people and research capacity in scientific research in South Africa, Africa and
beyond. W e are looking for a skilled Project Administrator/Coordinator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can become involved with the daily running of RIRCA and student affairs
Duties/Pligte
- Coordinating project activities, group and Principal Investigator¿s meetings resources, equipment, and information.
- Preparing the necessary presentation materials for meetings, including minutes and ensuring timely dissemination.
- Maintaining comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
- Ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget requirements.
- Managing the administrative processes of all the projects within the Reproductive Immunology Research Consortium in Africa (RIRCA).
- Communicating and collaborating effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Liaising with various departments/Units within SU ( e.g. Procurement, HREC, Post-Doctoral Office, Transport Department, Business Management, Finance and the Grant Management Office), as well as with external stakeholders to ensure that the RIRCA project outputs align with SU¿s processes and procedures.
- Assisting with financial administration.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- Proven experience as a project administrator/coordinator or a similar role.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office package (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams), Zoom and other forms of electronic communication.
Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- An understanding of Stellenbosch University's systems will be advantageous.
