About the role
We are looking for a second full-time Optometrist to join the existing team at our Somerset West branch.
This is an exciting opportunity for a caring and motivated professional who enjoys building meaningful relationships with patients and working as part of a collaborative practice team. You will work alongside our current full-time Optometrist and branch team to support the continued growth of the practice and provide patients with the high standard of clinical care and service associated with Optique.
Key responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments
- Diagnosing and managing visual conditions within the appropriate scope of practice
- Recommending suitable lenses, frames and other optical solutions based on each patient’s individual needs
- Educating patients about their eye health and available treatment or corrective options
- Contributing to an excellent and consistent patient experience
- Working collaboratively with the branch team to support the practice’s operational and performance objectives
What we are looking for
- A recognised qualification in Optometry
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
- Strong clinical knowledge and sound professional judgement
- A warm, patient-centred approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to the wider team
- A strong sense of accountability and attention to detail
- A genuine interest in delivering both excellent clinical care and an exceptional patient experience
