Job Description:
We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive Operations Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in operations, outstanding communication skills and proven experience within the fuel and lubricants industry. This role is crucial to ensuring smooth daily operations, team coordination and the efficient delivery of our products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
– Understanding how to plan and optimize routes to minimize transit times, reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions.
– Familiarity with scheduling algorithms and techniques, such as first-come-first-served, earliest-deadline-first and priority scheduling.
– Understanding the challenges and complexities of vehicle routing problems, including capacity constraints, time windows and traffic patterns.
– Knowledge of relevant transportation regulations, such as hours of service, weight and size limits and hazardous materials transportation.
– Familiarity with GPS tracking and telematics systems, including their capabilities and limitations.
– Understanding of dispatch and logistics software, including their features and functionality.
– Knowledge of real-time traffic management systems and their ability to optimize routes and reduce congestion.
Requirements:
– Recommended: National Logistics Diploma/Degree or any related qualification.
– 5 years relevant experience.
– Experience in the fuel and lubricants industry (advantageous).
– Strong Planning and Organising skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
