The role of the OPERATIONS MANAGER will report into the and be responsible for the operations for 3 facilities with complex production lines.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure Operational Efficiency through:
Developing and implementing production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.
Uphold strict Safety and Compliance through:
Enforcing safety protocols and promoting a culture of safety among all employees.
Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies related to environmental, health, and safety standards.
Ensuring SSOPs are maintained and enforced.
Manage Operational Costs effectively through:
Budget tracking and adherence.
Monitoring operational expenses and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
Analysing financial data and preparing budgets to support operational planning and decision-making.
Develop and lead a high-performing operations team through:
Monitoring and reporting on time and attendance of the production team.
Planning for absenteeism cover and ensuring there are sufficient team members to run all required production lines each day.
Leading and motivating the production team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Providing training and development opportunities to enhance team members’ skills and knowledge and cross-training where needed.
Experience and Qualifications:
Engineering qualification or similar.
8 years experience in a similar role (of which 4 years should have been in a supervisory/mentoring capacity).
Experience running multiple production lines.
This role will suit a manufacturing or operational manager who enjoys managing and leading through a hands-on approach. Someone who is comfortable working in a warehouse environment and can influence and inspire staff to achieve operational efficiencies at all levels.
