A vacancy for a senior position A senior managerial position is available at Hudson Rubber reporting directly to the Managing Director. Although the position is for an Operations Manager, the successful candidate must have the capability to progress to a General manager role within 2 years. The company is on a high growth trajectory and therefore require a well-qualified, experienced person with an excellent track record in a pressurized environment. An ambitious, results driven individual, with an industrial or mechanical engineering qualification with a passion for manufacturing will be considered for the position. Working under pressure, deliver results and be hands-on will be expected from the successful candidate. It is imperative that the person delivers results in a short period of time with long term strategic initiatives. The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing facility. To coordinate, plan, and direct all the activities that go into the production process. The Operations Manager has the responsibility of running the entire plant of the manufacturing process. Reporting to the Managing Director Key Responsibilities: Set up the machines and a safe environment for production. Manage the workflow for the operations/manufacturing Oversee the quality control of produced materials or goods. Establish goals for production and coordinate a plan to meet those goals. Ensure production stays on schedule. Assure products meet quality standards. Write production reports. Analyze production data and optimize for efficiency. Direct an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. Ensure workers and equipment meet performance and safety requirements. Recruit, train, and assess the performance of manufacturing employees. Support workers as questions, concerns, or feedback arises. Supervise staff and delegate tasks to employees. Communicate with other departments, such, HR department to recruit new workers, or the logistics department to ensure the delivery of products. Deliver to set KPI’s Essential Requirements: Grade 12. Bachelors degree in engineering Bachelors degree in Business Prior management of manufacturing experience is essential in automotive industry – at least 5 years. Strong communication and organizational skills. Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross-functional team members. Technical competencies in manufacturing (e.g., technical drawings, blueprints, maintenance) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other industry software. Lead the operations team and ensure that daily and weekly targets are met. Problem solving and decision-making. Maintenance of machines. Excellent Organizational and leadership skills. Effectively Manage Interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company. Ability to work well in a team and on your own. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. High work ethic, dependable and strong attention to detail. Beneficial Requirements: Previous work experience and knowledge with OEM suppliers. Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude. Ability to communicate and work across different cultures and social groups. Ability to work well in a pressurized environment. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Ability to manage various projects and tasks. Strong passion for work and ambitious Basic knowledge of Finance Special requirements: A person with the ability to be at General manager Level in 2 to 3 years
