Role Description

The New Business Development Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development of and supporting and driving the organisation’s new business growth strategy. This role focuses on assisting the MD with the implementation of the strategy, lead generation, proposal development, client follow-ups, and effective pipeline management using OnePage CRM.

The incumbent plays a key coordination role between sales, marketing, and operations to ensure opportunities are progressed efficiently from prospecting through to contract award.

Key Responsibilities

 

Business Development Support

  • Identify and research potential clients, industries, and new market opportunities and channels
  • Generate new leads through networking, referrals, LinkedIn outreach, industry research, and other prospecting methods.
  • Support the development and execution of the company’s business development strategy.
  • Maintain an active understanding of industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics.
  • Assist with preparation for client meetings, presentations, and pitches.
  • Conduct presentations to clients

Proposal Development & Tender Support

  • Draft, format, and coordinate new business proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to gather technical and pricing information.
  • Ensure proposals are professionally presented, accurate, compliant, and aligned with client requirements.
  • Manage proposal timelines and submission deadlines.
  • Maintain and update the company’s library of standard proposal templates and content.

Client follow-Ups & Relationship Management

  • Conduct timely follow-ups on submitted proposals and client meetings.
  • Maintain regular contact with prospects to nurture relationships and move opportunities forward.
  • Schedule meetings and coordinate communication between prospective clients and internal teams.
  • Track feedback from clients and update relevant stakeholders.

Pipeline & CRM Management (OnePage CRM)

  • Accurately capture and update all leads, opportunities, and client interactions in OnePage CRM.
  • Monitor pipeline stages and ensure timely progression of opportunities.
  • Generate pipeline and sales activity reports for management.
  • Ensure data integrity, completeness, and accuracy within the CRM system.
  • Identify stalled opportunities and escalate where necessary.

Sales Administration & Reporting

  • Prepare weekly and monthly new business activity reports.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead conversion rates, turnaround times, and proposal success rates.
  • Maintain updated client and prospect databases.
  • Support contract administration processes where required.

 Marketing & Brand Support (where applicable)

  • Support marketing campaigns aimed at lead generation.
  • Coordinate case studies, client testimonials, and marketing collateral.
  • Assist with event coordination, webinars, or networking initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment between marketing messaging and sales proposals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven expertise in New Business Development, Business Development, and Sales (2-3 years)
  • Experience in Business Planning and Consulting
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Relevant qualifications in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
  • Familiarity with HR Management services is a plus
