National Legal & Compliance Partner
Are you a legal and compliance expert with a keen eye for risk management and regulatory oversight? We’re looking for a Legal & Compliance Partner with a strong corporate background to take ownership of legal governance, commercial contractual matters, and corporate compliance on a national basis. If you excel in a dynamic, fast-paced corporate setting and have hands-on experience managing high-value commercial contracts, this role is for you!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Legal & Contract Management
Serve as the central point of contact for all legal, compliance, and risk-related matters.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, supplier contracts, and client service agreements.
Ensure company-wide standardization of contractual terms and conditions.
Manage legal aspects of tenders, contract disputes, and claims in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Oversee lease agreements and insurance contracts related to company properties and assets.
Provide guidance on regulatory changes and legal best practices.
Compliance & Risk Oversight
Develop and maintain a compliance framework aligned with regional laws, industry regulations, and corporate policies.
Monitor and assess corporate compliance obligations, implementing necessary risk mitigation strategies.
Lead compliance training initiatives to raise awareness across the organization.
Manage all company risk registers and reporting processes, ensuring proactive risk identification and resolution.
Oversee data protection responsibilities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Corporate Governance & Ethics
Implement corporate governance best practices, ensuring legal entities adhere to statutory requirements.
Manage company secretarial duties, including board and shareholder meetings, filings, and corporate resolutions.
Champion ethical business practices, overseeing reporting mechanisms for ethical concerns.
Act as a key advisor on M&A activities, financial structuring, and investment risk assessment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:
Qualifications:
Degree in Law
Additional certifications in Compliance, Risk Management, or Corporate Governance are advantageous.
Experience & Skills:
5-10 years’ experience in a management role within a corporate / engineering environment dealing with commercial contracts.
Strong knowledge of international contract frameworks.
Expertise in managing compliance programs, risk mitigation strategies, and corporate governance processes.
Experience in Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and arbitration processes is highly beneficial.
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Attention to detail with an analytical, solution-driven approach.
