Full Job Description
REQUIREMENTS:
Diploma/Degree in Mining Engineering
3 to 5 years’ experience in a Mining Operation
Mine Managers Certificate of Competency will be advantageous
Open cast or surface mining blasting or rock breaking certificate will be advantageous
Competency A, Legal Liability
DUTIES:
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to design mine plans and schedules, including traffic management compliance using mine planning software and achieve project milestones within the agreed timelines
Applying rock mechanics and strata control principles for the safe and economic design of mine workings
Design, plan, and execute all drill and blast activities within a mine, optimizing fragmentation and minimizing costs
Review, identify and make recommendations to management regarding systems, procedures and techniques used by the mine to reduce or eliminate fall of ground incidents
Scrutinize and approve blast block designs to ensure safety and compliance
Loading, hauling and dump Control, while ensuring machinery is kept in good working condition,
Provide inputs into baseline and issue-based risk assessments
Ensure compliance to all site-specific health and safety standards, and regulatory/statutory requirements

Pay: R42Â 000,00 – R85Â 000,00 per month
