An established meat-processing company is seeking a reliable, disciplined and hands-on Millwright to join its Maintenance Team in Paarl.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production machinery, responding to breakdowns and ensuring that plant equipment and supporting infrastructure operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform repairs and maintenance on production machinery and equipment
• Respond to mechanical and electrical breakdowns promptly and efficiently
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance checks
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
• Assist with refrigeration fault-finding and general maintenance
• Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of boilers, steam lines and refrigeration plants
• Perform welding, plumbing and general plant and building maintenance
• Maintain accurate maintenance records where required
• Be available for after-hours and weekend call-outs when necessary
Requirements
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport are essential
• Experience maintaining food-processing equipment
• Experience with butcher or meat-processing machinery will be a strong advantage
• Practical experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics
• Electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience
• Experience with plant and building maintenance
• Exposure to Freon refrigeration; ammonia experience will be advantageous
• Welding and plumbing experience
• Preventative maintenance and breakdown-repair experience
• Comfortable working under pressure
