Job Purpose:

The Merchant Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and scaling a high-performing telesales team, targeting UK-based merchants. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership to drive revenue growth, ensure excellent operational execution, and deliver best-in-class customer experiences across the sales funnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Sales Management:

ï‚· Lead, coach, and manage a team of merchant sales agents focused on acquiring UK merchants.

ï‚· Monitor daily KPIs (calls, conversions, deals closed, etc.) and ensure targets are met or exceeded.

ï‚· Conduct regular team meetings, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching to drive performance.

ï‚· Develop and implement telesales strategies aligned with UK market dynamics.

Operations Management:

ï‚· Oversee day-to-day operations of the telesales team, ensuring smooth workflow and operational efficiency.

ï‚· Manage CRM usage and ensure accurate data capture, lead follow-up, and pipeline management.

ï‚· Ensure compliance with UK-based financial regulations and company policies.

ï‚· Identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements to maximize productivity.

Performance Analysis & Reporting:

ï‚· Track and analyze sales performance, pipeline activity, and market feedback.

ï‚· Prepare regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and operational metrics for leadership.

ï‚· Identify training needs and lead skills development initiatives for continuous improvement.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

ï‚· Collaborate with UK-based counterparts, marketing, and product teams to ensure local market relevance.

ï‚· Escalate and resolve merchant issues in collaboration with customer support and technical teams.

ï‚· Assist in onboarding high-value merchants where necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

ï‚· Matric / Grade 12 required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or related field is advantageous.

 Minimum 3–5 years in telesales with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or operations role.

ï‚· Experience with OMNI Channel communication and Dialer systems (required)

ï‚· Experience managing outbound merchant sales teams, ideally in financial services or fintech.

ï‚· Solid understanding of the UK business environment and consumer protection standards.

ï‚· Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

ï‚· Strong knowledge of CRM systems and sales performance tools.

ï‚· Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
