SUMMARY:
An established retail organisation is seeking an experienced Merchandising Planner to support profitable growth through effective financial planning, inventory optimisation, and performance analysis within a dynamic retail environment.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage sales, margin, inventory, and open‑to‑buy plans by category and season.
- Analyse performance against plans, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Conduct post‑season and promotional analyses to inform future strategies.
- Manage inventory levels to minimise overstocks and stock shortages.
- Oversee allocation, replenishment, and clearance strategies.
- Prepare regular performance reports and dashboards for senior management.
- Collaborate with Buying, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in merchandise planning or retail financial analysis.
- Strong track record in achieving financial and inventory targets.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with retail planning systems.
- BI tools (Power BI / Tableau) and Syspro experience will be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strategic thinking and sound business acumen.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to perform well in a fast‑paced retail environment.
