The Medical Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of medical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimal downtime in healthcare facilities. The role includes technical support, equipment troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repair Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repairs on medical equipment in hospitals and clinics. Diagnose technical faults and implement corrective solutions to minimise downtime. Utilise advanced hospital maintenance software for efficient tracking and servicing. Ensure all equipment complies with SAHPRA regulations and ISO certification requirements.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting Provide rapid response technical support to healthcare facilities. Offer expert guidance to hospital staff on equipment usage and troubleshooting. Maintain accurate service records and documentation of all repairs and maintenance performed. Coordinate loan unit equipment provisions to prevent operational disruptions. Installation & Setup Assist in seamless hospital setup solutions, from planning to final inspection. Ensure proper installation, configuration, and testing of new medical equipment.
Work closely with engineering teams to optimise hospital maintenance strategies.
Compliance & Safety Adhere to industry regulations and company compliance standards (SAHPRA, ISO, B-BBEE). Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety and
quality control
protocols. Participate in regular audits and risk assessments to uphold high operational standards. On-Site Support & Contract Management Provide full-time technical support at hospitals where the company has maintenance contracts. Collaborate with clinical engineering teams to improve efficiency and reliability.
Maintain stock levels of essential spare parts and equipment.

Experience:
Minimum Qualification:
Diploma or Degree in Clinical Engineering, Biomedical Technology, or related field

Certifications:
