SUMMARY:
Our client in the Water Solution Industry is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join the team in Witbank
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Manage and supervise the mechanical maintenance team. Plan and coordinate preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance. Ensure all maintenance work is completed, recorded, and closed on the SAP maintenance system. Maintain an accurate asset register and ensure equipment is correctly identified. Monitor equipment condition and perform inspections to prevent failures. Troubleshoot mechanical faults and provide technical support to artisans. Respond to breakdowns and prioritise repairs to minimise downtime. Prepare and submit maintenance reports, job cards, timesheets, and other documentation. Maintain stock levels of maintenance spares and control inventory. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and ISO standards. Assist with sourcing, purchasing, quality control, and installation of new or repaired equipment. Train, mentor, and manage the maintenance team. Promote good housekeeping and safe working practices. Qualifications & Experience N4 qualification with a recognised Fitter Trade Test (Section 13). Experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems (SAP preferred). Experience in industrial water treatment plant maintenance. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills. Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act. Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis. Knowledge of lifting and rigging procedures. Skills Strong leadership and people management skills. Good planning, organisation, and time management abilities. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Computer literate (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.). Ability to read and interpret technical information. Experience with inventory and maintenance stores management. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team. Focus on continuous improvement and safety. Requirements Medically fit to work in an industrial water treatment environment. Comfortable working in noisy, dusty, hazardous, confined, and outdoor environments. Physically able to lift heavy items, climb, stand, walk, and work at heights. Valid, reliable transport and willingness to travel to other company sites in the region. Own accommodation within the region. Willing to work standby, after-hours, and weekends when required.
