A leading engineering solutions provider, specialising in the design, manufacture, supply, and servicing of high-performancehydraulic mining systems is seeking a hands-onMechanical Foreman/ Maintenance Engineer. Based at a mine site in Welkom, this role focuses on equipment maintenance, system installation, and ensuring optimal uptime of hydraulic drilling systems in a mining environment.
Requirements:
Grade 12/Matric
Trade Certificate Millwright, Fitter, or Electrician
5+ years post trade in an underground mining maintenance role, with team leadership experience
Proven track record in asset management, risk mitigation, and OEE optimization
Ability to manage projects, teams, and compliance standards
Valid medical certificate (or proof of fitness for underground work)
Clean criminal record
Responsibilities:
Supervise maintenance and repair of hydraulic mining equipment including rock drills, thrust legs, and machinery
Lead underground and surface equipment installation and technical support functions
Implement and oversee Preventative Maintenance (PPM) plans to ensure system longevity
Conduct inspections and troubleshoot faults in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical subsystems
Train and mentor crews on equipment usage and safety protocols
Manage inventory and spare part requirements for critical assets
Monitor performance metrics and ensure OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) is optimized
Ensure site compliance with safety regulations and internal maintenance standards
Oversee daily operations and performance of on-site maintenance teams
