Introduction
SA Vans is looking for A Fitter who fabricates industrial tools, components and products from metal, working to a set of specifications, and operates tools and machines to grind, mill and shape raw materials into the specified form, then assembling the final product.
Job description
Manufacture, construct, assemble and fit components for machinery, vehicles, installations and other apparatus or articles.
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of such equipment.
Mounting and dismounting work pieces on/from the lathe.
Performing roughing and finishing operations.
Reading blueprints, plans, or 3D models, and use tools to assemble the parts
Skills required
Good practical skills.
a great knowledge of cars, and how they work.
to work well on your own and as part of a team.
to be accurate and pay attention to detail.
basic data inputting skills.
an awareness of health and safety issues.
Qualifications
Possess N1-N3 and/or N4-N6 certificates.
Have basic engineering theory, NQF Level 3, 32 credits.
Know fitting theory, NQF Level 4, 38 credits.
Know machining theory, NQF Level 4, 36 credits
