About The Opportunity
A leading global engineering organisation within the mining and minerals processing sector is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team.
This opportunity is ideal for a Mechanical Engineer with approximately 3–5 years of post-graduate design experience who is passionate about developing innovative products and solving complex engineering challenges within heavy industrial environments.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and equipment for mining and mineral processing applications. Produce detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using CAD software. Perform engineering calculations, design verification, and technical analysis. Collaborate with manufacturing, projects, and operations teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable. Support product improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and serviceability. Conduct root-cause investigations and implement engineering solutions to operational challenges. Participate in prototype development, testing, and product validation activities. Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications. Prepare technical documentation, reports, and engineering change notices. Engage with internal and external stakeholders throughout the design lifecycle. Minimum Requirements: BEng or BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 3 years' post-graduate mechanical design experience . Proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, Siemens NX, or similar 3D CAD software. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals. Exposure to manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly. Ability to interpret and create detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
