Job description:
The assembler is responsible for assembling bearings and related components for industrial applications. The assembler ensures all parts are properly prepared, deburred, measured, inspected, and assembled to meet quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble bearing components and subassemblies according to blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, bill of materials, and assembly specifications.
- Deburr, clean, and prepare components prior to assembly to ensure proper fit and finish.
- Inspect parts and completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
- Use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, dial calipers, etc., to verify dimensions, tolerances, and clearances.
- Complete required inspection and production documentation accurately.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing processes.
- Work closely with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to resolve assembly or inspection issues.
Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:
- Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company’s goals.
- Lifting guidelines in accordance with the Manual Lifting Guidelines noted in the Safety Handbook.
- Follow all environmental requirements consistently with supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.
- Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements.
Position & Physical Conditions:
- At least 18 years of age
- A US citizen or Green Card holder
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English at a high school level.
- Able to lift at least 35 pounds, unassisted
- Able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items, manual dexterity, and coordination to operate equipment
- Dependable and reliable to handle equipment safely with a minimum amount of supervision.
- Adhere to PPE requirements
