Full Job Description
Position: Floating Maths & Science Tutor (Grade 4–12)
Location: Various Branches across the East Rand, Joburg North and South
Franchise: Master Maths & Master Science
We are seeking a dynamic and highly competent Afrikaans-speaking Maths & Science Tutor to join our Master Maths and Master Science team. This is a full-time role intended to provide cover for staff on sick leave, maternity leave, or during peak periods across our six branches in Glenanda, Alberton, Lambton, Parktown, Norwood and Mondeor.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality tutoring in:
Mathematics (Grades 4–12)
Physical Science (Grades 10–12)
Step in seamlessly at any of our six branches as required
Adapt quickly to different teaching environments and student needs
Maintain consistency with Master Maths and Master Science methodologies and values
Requirements:
Fluent in Afrikaans and English (spoken and written)
Excellent subject knowledge in Maths (Grade 4–12) and Physical Science (Grade 10–12) with a minimum of 75% in both subjects in grade 12.
Reliable own transport and willingness to travel between branches
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A teaching qualification or tutoring experience is an advantage, but not essential
Working hours – 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday as well as 4 hours on alternate Saturdays
