Purpose of the Role
Our client based in Centurion is seeking a Junior Master Data Manager to ensure the integrity and quality of reference data across all business functions. This role plays a key part in supporting effective data governance and maintaining compliance with internal and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with IT, finance, operations, and sales teams to ensure accurate and reliable master data that supports reporting, analytics, and operational efficiency.
✅ Key Responsibilities
Data Quality & Governance
Evaluate new and existing data to determine quality and relevance.
Lead or support efforts to clean, validate, and ingest data into operational systems.
Define requirements for ETL processes and guide technical teams accordingly.
Ensure all data adheres to group policies and data governance frameworks.
Proactively identify and correct data inconsistencies or errors.
Operational Efficiency
Automate repetitive data tasks through RPA or workflow tools.
Design scalable processes for high-volume data management.
Minimize the impact of operational activities on data integrity.
Reporting & Collaboration
Develop and support general reporting tools for internal use.
Liaise with business units to align on data requirements and priorities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and integrate new data sources.
Self-Management & Teamwork
Demonstrate accountability, ownership, and collaboration in all tasks.
Contribute positively to team performance and organizational culture.
Minimum Requirements
Senior Certificate and/or tertiary diploma.
5–10 years of experience managing data within business systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Hands-on experience with ERP/operational systems (e.g., SAP, SAGE, Optimize).
Solid SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
Understanding of data architecture, metadata, and core data concepts.
Familiarity with automation tools or workflow platforms is an advantage.
