Main job function

Establish a business development unit to drive revenue through new business development opportunities in terms of the company’s turnaround strategy.

Responsible for developing a 3-to-5-year implementation plan to drive and increase revenue for the business.

Responsible for developing a Marketing strategy according to trends and customer requirements and establishing new markets for the products to ensure companysustainability.

Responsible for the staffing of the business development unit.

Extensive market research planning and reporting.

Conceive and develop efficient and intuitive marketing strategies for the Hospitality, Retail, e-Commerce, and Exports industries to develop sustainable growth.

Oversee the implementation of marketing strategies including advertising,communicationcampaigns (TV, social media, radio, etc.), exhibitions, and promotional events.

Develop and grow new business opportunities in both hospitality and retail in the SADC region;
East and North Africa; the BRICS + countries;
Europe.

Build on existing relationships to develop and grow new business opportunities for the company.

Analyze the performance of the current products and formulate future business strategy accordingly.

Present new category recommendations regularly to the Sales Manager and Key Account Managers (financials, reasoning/trends, and plans).

Keep abreast of industry trends and new product ideas in the local and international markets.

Develop strategies based on brand performance.

Build strong relationships with current and new customers both locally and internationally.

Forecast business projections & trends, formulate result-oriented plans, and set and adhere to budgets/objectives.

Negotiate buying terms with vendors (price, quantity, delivery terms, and markdowns).

Conduct market research and analysis to evaluate trends,brand awareness, and competition ventures.

Responsible for the initiation of control surveys to assess customer requirements and dedication.

Responsible for sign-off of copy fordiversemarketing distributions (brochures, press releases, website material, etc.).

Collaborate with managers in preparing budgets and monitoring expenses.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Textile Technology, or Product Business Development.

Criteria

10+ years ofproven track recordin the development of new business and growth of current business.

Proven track recordin the Hospitality, Retail, e-Commerce, or Exports growth and new business development.

Proven track recordin building strong, long-lasting relationships with professionals at all organizational levels.

Aptitude in identifying new areas for business growth and development.

Ability to establish and maintain partnerships and provide thoughtleadership.

Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills.

High level of computer literacy.

Good business acumen with a high degree ofanalytical skills.

Excellent organizational andproblem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure to achieve targets and meet deadlines.

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to monitor and evaluate new opportunities in the industry.

Proven track recordin recruiting and managing a high-functioning team.
