Job Purpose:
- The Regional Trade Marketer is responsible for executing and coordinating localised marketing plans and the overall Corporate Brand Identity ensuring seamless deployment across Consumer & Fintech, Enterprise, BRC, and Residential segments within the Region.
- To focus on tactical implementation, ensuring marketing initiatives are effectively rolled out in alignment with the broader marketing strategy set by the Marketing Manager/ Senior Manager. The role spans media planning, brand activation, PR, events, acquisition, reporting, and Customer Value Management (CVM) execution.
- To ensure best practice in marketing within the channel in alignment with central and regional strategy.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Key Activities & Responsibilities
1. Operational Coordination & Marketing Execution
- Implement sales and service campaigns across all segments, ensuring alignment with brand trade marketing strategies.
- Plan and execute regional marketing activities that drive product sell-through.
- Manage regional event coordination, sponsorship activations, and mall promotions to enhance brand presence.
- Oversee the execution of Below-the-Line (BTL) marketing projects, ensuring compliance with brand and regional strategies.
- Coordinate the production and distribution of Point-of-Sale (POS) materials, ensuring proper use within trade channels. Ensure alignment to Merchandising guidelines provided by Channel Marketing.
- Collaborate with external suppliers to facilitate the timely delivery of marketing elements.
- Ensure seamless communication and implementation of trade marketing action plans across all regions.
- Provide feedback on regional promotions and incentive programs to drive business improvements.
2. Trade & Channel Marketing Execution
- Manage the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) model and relationships at Head Office level.
- Ensure proper product distribution and trade-level engagement.
- Implement and monitor MTN and OEM incentive programs within the trade environment.
- Work closely with the regional sales and marketing teams to identify innovative ways to enhance consumer channel performance.
3. Relationship Management & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, stores, shopping malls, and community leaders.
- Maintain relationship and alignment with Brand & Marketing team on proposition, brand and retail positioning / messaging.
- Act as the primary liaison for regional trade marketing activities, ensuring alignment with BRID (Branded Retail, Indirect & Digital) strategies.
- Maintain continuous communication with sales teams to support marketing activations and retail-level execution
- Address and resolve trade marketing-related queries in a timely manner.
4. Budget Management & Cost Optimization
- Contribute to forecasting and budgeting for the trade marketing function.
- Optimize trade marketing spend, ensuring all expenditures are within the allocated budget. Identify areas for cost savings and explore opportunities to maximize marketing ROI.
- Seek opportunities to generate additional revenue through optimized trade marketing strategies.
5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Generate weekly and monthly performance reports on promotions, incentives, and trade activations.
- Track and analyze marketing campaign effectiveness, providing insights to improve execution.
- Maintain a dashboard of key marketing KPIs, including customer acquisition, brand visibility, and trade marketing impact.
6. Customer Satisfaction & Service Excellence
- Ensure service delivery is aligned with local market segment needs.
- Gather and integrate customer insights to refine trade marketing activations.
- Develop contingency plans to enhance customer experience and mitigate service issues.
- Continuously improve trade marketing processes to better meet customer expectations.
7. Governance, Policies and Procedures
- Ensure effective implementation of (and compliance towards) all company policies, processes, and procedures. Put effective methods and standards in place in alignment with aforementioned.
- Manage and provide solutions to escalations that have multiple processes / functions impact on critical path of service delivery
- Continuously review key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions. Proactively flag and escalate issues and manage impacts on resources, costs and productivity.
8. People and Culture
- Provide technical, procedural and policy guidance to staff, colleagues , partners and vendors
- Manage own performance and identify training needs.
- Enable and model healthy employee relations and collaborative teamwork.
- Contribute to building a culture of continuous evaluation and improvement. Drive a culture of high performance, accountability and consequence management.

Education, Skills and Experience

- Post matric qualification in marketing communications or similar relevant qualification
- Project planning diploma, or similar qualification or proven experience
