Job Description:
American Industrial Machine is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist / Lathe Operator to join our growing team in Odessa, TX. This is a hands-on, in-house position with very limited travel.
Experience Requirements:
Must have at least 1 year of experience operating a manual lathe. A background working on pistons, rods/rings, cylinders, or compressor components in the oil field/manufacturing environment is preferred.

Essential Job Functions:
- Operate manual lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts
- Perform ID/OD single-point threading
- Carry out turning, grooving, and boring operations
- Set up machines by adjusting tools and equipment to match specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders
- Conduct in-process and final quality checks to ensure tolerances are met
- Collaborate with team members to improve machining processes and efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and follow all safety standards in the machining area
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating a manual lathe – required
- Manufacturing industry experience – preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
